Look at the sky,
What do you see?
I see white clouds form figures that I enjoy interpreting, I feel the cool wind on my face which makes my cheeks blush and brings with it the smell of the sea, I smell the trees lose their leaves in autumn and I see the colourful carpet that they create, I feel the smell of freshly cut grass, but above all, on sunny days, I see the intense blue of the sky all around me.
Well, I'm lucky: there are people who hear, when they open the window, only the noise of cars, they smell smog, they see the blue of the sky obscured by clouds of industries gas. This is one of the privileges of living in small cities.
Of course, it’s also true that we cannot go on without industries, we need many things, and as time goes by we‘ll need many more goods.
So,how can we create a cleaner world?
In my town people do waste separation, are committed to keep streets and parks clean and experts take care of historical artefacts.
But try to go in southern Italy, where the streets are packed with rubbish, towns are ruined by negligence and indifference, the historical artefacts fall apart... and what do people do? Nothing! It seem that doesn‘t matter.
"The mosaics of Pompei are falling from the walls" "It's not my fault!"
"The sidewalks are full of junk!" "Okay, It‘s been like this for years."
"Innocent victims die because of potholed roads with no lights or because of fools who drive drunk!" "Never mind, just do not happen to me."
YES, YOU HAVE TO CARE!
Finally, is it industries and spray’s fault if there is a hole in the ozone? Is it because of the rain if the historical artefacts fall to pieces, taking away our history? Is it fault of the people who live their lives if they are killed?
No, It’s fault of people who don’t care.

What a lovely text! I agree.
ReplyDeletei love your presentation vikyyyyyyyyyyyy <3
ReplyDeleteJust one question... why does it matter for nature if some statue falls down? I mean, sure, historical value, but it's not going to cause damage to the environment, other than possibly the metal ending up on a junkyard, and not taken care of properly.
ReplyDeleteAlso. NO. I DON'T HAVE TO CARE! But it is in my best interest to do. Unless you can find an international law that declares that I don't have the right not to care that is, in which case said law would be a violation of human rights and most certainly be declared invalid.
Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't care, but you can't demand of anyone to do. That would be a violation of my right as a human being to have my own opinion.
Wow, that's a really nice text! you are so right!
